Weather changes in Roma, Italy

I live in Roma, Italy, not too far from St. Peter's Cathedral. The wheather here is rather pleasant, but recently it has changed. We used to have four rather defined seasons, while now Spring and Fall have almost disappeared. During Summer, now, we have higher temperatures – they even reach 40°C and this happens rather frequently, by now. Also, there is a strong difference between daily temperatures and those of the night. A remarkably higher quantity of air conditioners has been sold in the last 5-6 years. And in some Italian regions from September to November, instead of a slow change from Summer to Winter we experience sudden and strong storms. But we are lucky altogether - the sun is almost always present here in my beloved town …
